It has been several weeks now that in TêlaHome we are introducing modifications in our fabric and upholstery series. First, it has been the inclusion of variations in the references of Roma. Soon, there will be a restructured Terciopelo, adjusted to what our customers demand. And finally, we are experimenting with wool, incorporated as new material for our future series, which we hope will be finished after the summer of 2018. It is a commitment to innovation, in which we are determined to find the best product. At the moment, we have manufactured some pre-series samples, in order to put them to all types of tests and resistance analysis, necessary for their approval. Any upholstery, in addition to beautiful, must be practical and durable.
The threads that are commonly used in the manufacture of upholstery are synthetic. However, the use of natural fibers such as wool, greatly improves the texture of the fabrics. And this is our pretension, since innovation is not incompatible with traditional ways. The samples that we have made will give us the keys in terms of the treatment they should receive. At the moment, we have used the wool only in the fabric weave. The warp will remain acrylic. What will we get with this? Fundamentally, improving the feel and softness of the final product. In addition, it is necessary to obtain fabrics that are resistant to abrasion, but at the same time fireproof and waterproof. The results should also be checked in terms of finishing, coloration and possibilities of the designs.
At the recent textile fair held in Frankfurt, which brings together the main manufacturers and traders of the household sector, the accent has been placed on innovation. The creation of environments and styles, through the introduction of different fabrics and upholstery, has been defined as a priority in the international market. These samples are only the beginning of a path that we have started to walk and that we hope will be fruitful.
